Welcome to KlarStep (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website and services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using KlarStep, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Overview

KlarStep is an online web application designed to help users prepare for the Leben in Deutschland (LiD) test by providing mock exams, statistics, and regional notifications.

Our mission is to help immigrants confidently prepare for the official exam through a user-friendly and reliable study platform.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use KlarStep.
By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

4. Account Registration

• You may create an account using social login (Google or Meta).
• We do not offer traditional email/password accounts.
• You are responsible for maintaining control of your social login credentials.
• You agree to use accurate information and not impersonate others.

If you delete or lose access to your social account, you may lose access to your KlarStep profile.

5. Free and Paid Access

KlarStep offers a freemium model:

• Free users may take up to 3 practice exams.
• Free users can browse on-site exams events information but they can't subscribe for new exams notifications.
• Paid users unlock unlimited access through a one-time payment.
• Paid users unlock new on-site exams events subscriptions for notifications.
• The payment grants lifetime access for that account and is non-transferable.

Information accuracy

Regarding on-site exams events information displayed in the application, we can't guarantee 100% accuracy as there are no official sources for that information and we rely on third-party services. While we do our best to have the best information, we suggest users to double check the data we provide.

Promotion activities

Certain promotional activities or marketing campaigns may, at the sole discretion of the Company, offer temporary access to Premium features for a defined period to free users. This temporary access shall not establish or imply the lifelong access entitlement afforded to Paid Users.

6. Payments and Refunds

Payments are securely processed via Mollie (our payment provider).
We do not handle or store your credit card information.

All payments are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable consumer protection laws.

If you experience a technical issue that prevents access to the paid features, please contact us at [your contact email] within 14 days of purchase.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on KlarStep — including design, questions database, code, branding, and graphics — is owned by KlarStep or its licensors.

You may:

• Access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial study purposes only.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute content without permission.
• Use any automated systems (bots, scrapers) to extract data.
• Reproduce KlarStep’ functionality for competing products.

8. User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to disrupt or compromise the security of the Service.
• Misuse the app for fraudulent or abusive purposes.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Disclaimers

KlarStep provides study materials and mock exams for educational purposes only.
We do not guarantee that using the Service will ensure success in the official Leben in Deutschland exam.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without any warranties, express or implied.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• KlarStep shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
• Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) for the paid features.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to KlarStep if:

• You violate these Terms,
• You misuse the Service, or
• We are required to do so by law.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Modifications to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including adding or removing features.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes in advance.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia and applicable European Union regulations.

If any dispute arises, it shall be submitted to the competent courts of Estonia, unless otherwise required by EU consumer protection law.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
